ALLIE & DREW
Allie & Drew's love is joyful and contagious. This couple put so much thought and care into their big day, bringing pieces of things they loved into every aspect of the wedding - hand-made signage, light up 'P.I.E.' letters on the dessert table, fans for the ladies to stay cool during the ceremony, a polaroid guest book, and a memorial area devoted to Drew's late father. Allie is an artist and incorporated one of her note card designs as the favor for each guest. They even collected an assortment of vintage brown glass bottles for the table centerpieces, displaying simple and rustic eucalyptus bunches, while leaving the bouquets and boutonnieres to the talented team at Asrai Garden. One of my favorite reception components was a video the couple prepared, compiling footage they'd taken during their time in Chicago and on travels around the world - what a testament to the many adventures they've already shared! As a thoughtful gesture, they had Bang Bang Pie create a mini pie for a dear friend who's birthday fell on the wedding day. I hand-delivered the pie to the birthday girl while the couple led everyone through a lively rendition of 'Happy Birthday'. I loved working with this sweet, loving couple during the month prior to their wedding and was honored to play a part in executing their wedding day vision! JENNY & GEOFF
Jenny is one of the coolest and most generous brides I've had the pleasure of working with. She brought together a stellar team of vendors to execute her dream vision for a backyard wedding at her parent's home. With a keen eye for style and design, Jenny incorporated elements like horseshoes, antlers, brass figurines and vintage lanterns into the decor. Geoff, his groomsmen and the dads wore ties and pocket squares sewn by Jenny, who has her own line of men's accessories perfect for the stylish gent - Lonesome Traveler. Each bridesmaids wore a vintage dress of her choosing. The Golden Horse Ranch Band led a raucous dance party, calling out steps and leading guests through square dances, polkas, and more. The Foxglove Studio outdid themselves with gorgeous floral arrangements, bouquets, boutonnieres, and flower crowns for the bride and bridesmaids. The generous bride surprised the band with bouqs & bouts to dress up their attire! There was even a cotton candy machine where guests could spin their own cone, all paying homage to time in college where Jenny rented a machine for a night and threw an epic gathering. Heavy showers poured throughout the day, but that didn't dampen the mood on this joyous occasion. The rain gave way right before the ceremony and the sky cleared up for the remainder of the night. The backyard may have been soggy, but these guests just kicked off their shoes and danced away until the wee hours. A very special & memorable evening indeed!
