Yoga+ Chicago Holiday Gift Guide

yoga plus gift guide

We've rounded up our own holiday gift guide this year, highlighting some of our favorite Chicago makers and places, among others. While this season is not about gifting, these are some of the ways we like to treat ourselves or the ones we love throughout the year. Enjoy!

This Grey Infinity Silk Scarf in Gold Speckle Pattern from Argaman & Defiance makes us swoon. We partnered with A+D founder Lydia Crespo for a natural dye workshop earlier this year. It was so fun to get a peek into her creative process and all guests took home a gorgeous olive green ombre scarf (dyed with purple online skins!). Her scarves are delicate and elegant, and we can't wait to build or own collection.

When it's time to pamper, we like to head to the NoMi Spa in Chicago's Park Hyatt hotel. They use Butter London nail lacquers and even with just booking a simple mani or pedi, you'll get access to all of the spa's great amenities. And the basic manicure even comes with a small seasonal bite and refreshing beverage from the NoMi Kitchen! Make sure to plan extra time for a session in the steam room beforehand and a soak in the hot tub afterwards. Or better yet, book the appointment with one of your girlfriends and make a relaxing afternoon out of it. Once you're all cleaned up, I'd recommend heading across the street for a drink in the RL bar. Our friend Megan is one of those always in-the-know gals, and she clued us in to this awesome deal, if you plan the time to milk it for all it's worth :).

If you have a young child, nice or nephew that you want to spoil, the Bennet Balance Bike is the coolest gift around. Designed by the team behind Heritage Bicycles, this bike's frame is made from recycled milk jugs and comes in a variety of colors. When our nephew Colter is old enough to fit on a balance bike, he'll be receiving one.

I'm on a mission to fill my home with more plants, and the faceted terrarium from West Elm is one of my favorite vessels. Stuck on how to make it look as good as the picture above? I recommend brining it to the friendly folks at Sprout Home. There you can pick out your own succulents, air plants, geodes and other goodies to fill the terrarium, and their staff will help you select and pour the right kind of rock/soil for a minimal potting fee. You've got a new centerpiece for your dining table!

Simone LeBlanc creates the most beautifully curated bespoke gift boxes, and we're already in love with some of her ready-made groupings, especially the Staycation Spa For Her. This gift box contains goodies from two of our favorites: Herbivore Botanicals and Tatine Candles (made in Chicago!).

The Sunday Suppers Cookbook is on my Christmas list this year. With beautiful photography and a collection of recipes for small gatherings, this is a book I'd keep out on display for frequent use!

Delancey: A Novel - I'm a big Molly Wizenberg fans. In fact, I think Orangette might have been the first blog I ever started reading and her first book, A Homemade Life, has a great way of blending personal stories in with meaningful recipes. In her second book, Molly talks about the pizza restaurant she opened in Seattle with her husband Brandon.

The newest edition to the 12 Minute DIY series from our friends at Foxtail + Moss will definitely jazz up a bar cart! We're in love with these good dipped glasses and carafe. Learn how to make it!

For your friend who can't get enough of cold-pressed juice, give the gift of a juice membership or subscription to one of our favorite new shops: Owen+Alchemy.

The Cinch is a gorgeous everyday leather bag from local handbag designer Chelli Harms Collection. We met Chelli at the Yoga+ For Reals Meals and she is the real deal. 10% of all CHC profits are donated to WINGS.

We attended our sweet friend Rachel's wedding in Austin last April and it was one of the most beautiful events we've ever experienced. Rachel shared photos from her wedding on her blog, Coffee + Tacos, and the monogrammed Clare Viver coin pouches she gifted her bridesmaids (pictured above) were the cutest things ever (we're big Clare V. fans in the Pavela household). I think this would make such a sweet gift for your mom, sister, or one of your girl friends!

For the love of copper! These copper Moscow Mule cups are the coolest. I picked one up for my boyfriend a couple of weeks ago at a thoughtfully curated bar shop called The Proper Pour (housed inside an artisan food market called The Source in Denver), but they are also sold online! It looks so nice with his barware collection and I already want to snag another one to complete the set...or to use as a succulent planter.

And speaking of planters, I'm in love with this handmade hanging copper bowl. I bought a large hanging donkey tail succulent a few weeks ago and have been searching for a pretty vessel to rescue it from a plastic case with metal string. This would be the perfect change up, though pretty pricey. Credit goes to Wit+Delight for turning me on to Dot+Bo and this awesome planter!

And from our kitchen to yours, recipes from our family heritage and gatherings so thoughtfully compiled by our amazing older sister Danielle. This is such a treasured collection of important recipes that we'll pass down for generations. Danielle recently made the book available for purchase! Read what the book means to her and find links to purchase on her blog!

Happy Holidays friends!
